Moodboard- Masculine Mod

I recently found a site, Project Decor, where you can easily create moodboard and then simply click on an item and buy it. Not that I actually have the money or space to buy any of it, but I've still had lots of fun making some imaginary spaces.
That Jonathan Adler pillow has long been on my wishlist.. I love the way it works in basically any room...

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and got lots of amazing presents! Later this week I will share a lengthy post about my Christmas spent in NYC, so exciting!

Apartment Crush

I came across the apartment of Olympia Bermann this week- she is the daughter of an interior designer as well as a clothing designer for J Crew...so jealous..
Also, completely jealous of her AMAZING New York CIty flat. Lots of antiques and a hint of pink? Perfection.

Cozy Velvet Love...

I may be the only one, but I am really tired of the heat. I'm definitely more of a cozy, cuddle up with tea in the winter kinda gal, which is why I'm posting about velvet in mid-august. I've found two loevely rooms featuring velvet upholstering, though I will be indulging in the trend with a pair of velvet leggins I've had my eye on...

Inspired Palette

Bonjour! Today is my last day at home before I leave for a little vacay fun! This means you should prepare yourself for some sparse posting in the next few days. I will try my best to get off my butt long enough to write up a post, but don't blame me if the sun has me passed out, which is a very likely possibility.
My last post before I leave is a lazy, 'been packing all day' repost from Design Seeds..

Super pretty though, right?
Well I am off to bed to squeeze in a few hours sleep before getting up at 4 am..blehhh

Moodboard Magic

Romantic Entryway

Though I'm fully aware that more cheery colors are "in" at the moment (it is summer, right?), I was getting a bit bored with creating those kinds of rooms.. so I just had to sneak in this little moodboard of a deep plum entryway more suited to winter... oh well!
Don't worry though, I did add a hint of turquoise ;)

Spotlight

Daniel Egneus

I am completely, head-over-heels in love with this guy's illustrations. I am so drawn to things with a touch of whimsy and something a little quirky, so his stuff is litteraly made for me!
He has some great serious like "Little Red Riding Hood", which includes this first piece as well as a few others...

So. Freaking. Amazing.

I'm just left haunted after looking at these..
If you want to look through the rest of his work (which I'm expecting you do) here's the link:

Craving Clothes

I love the bold color mix in this dining room, especially the yellow on the faux bamboo chairs..

So, I used those gorgey colors and came up with a casual outfit for the warm weather..

Some great news

I am so very happy this morning!
The news- Little Blue Deer, a blog/website designer is re-designing The Passionate Peony!! She has designed many of my favorite blogs and they all turn out perfect. So, well... I couldn't help but give myself a little treat ;)
I'm hoping it will turn out feminine and Victorian, but still fresh and not too stuffy. You know? My vision for it is sort of all over the place, but I'm confident she will get it right judging by her past successes.
I spend a good portion of my morning sifting through her portfolio of beauties, and I suspect you would enjoy doing the same...

I'm hoping for it to turn out a little something like this..
(minus the wedding pics, instead some rooms etc, maybe a peony?)

Any input/ideas??

Agate

I love love love agate for everything.
Its everywhere right now, so it wasn't too hard to find agate lights, jewelry and even an iphone case!

This first sconce was designed by the amazing Marjorie Skouras, who is also responsible for some of my favorite rooms.
Believe it or not, this is a rug...

Facades

I'm difficult to impress when it comes to the exterior of houses, but these stunning facades have really caught my eye...

A Masquerade Ball

For as long as I can remember, I have been so enticed by the idea of attending a fancy masquerade ball in an enormous, embellished gown. Oh, and it would of course take place in a Venetian palace.

But...unfortunately, no one has ever thought to invite me to one. One day I'm gonna have to host my own ball so I can sport one of these mysterious looks..

P.S.- I'm busy working on a masquerade-inspired painting which will hopefully be posted sometime this week!
